The scenic city of Snoqualmie is quietly hidden away within the western reaches of the magnificent Cascades. Residents enjoy quick access to the urban amenities of the Seattle metro area, and numerous outdoor activities in the Cascades and the Okanogan National Forest. Whether you’re relocating within the city – or moving across the country – CMS Relocation & Logistics is ready to assist you with your move.
The historic city center offers many fine dining and shopping opportunities to Snoqualmie residents, and outlet shopping in North Bend is a mere 5 minutes away. Art and culture enthusiasts enjoy weekend trips to the Snoqualmie Arts Market – featuring paintings, sculptures, and other pieces from local artists. This outdoor showcase for art, artisan crafts, and live music is held on Saturday afternoons during July and August of each year.
Adults and children alike will have fun at the Northwest Railway Museum, which houses historic locomotives and conducts train tours of the expansive Snoqualmie Valley. Founded in 1957, it is the largest and most complete railroad museum in the state. This extensive collection covers a variety of railway cars and locomotives – documenting development from the 1880s through the 1960s.
The Snoqualmie area offers incredible views of Mount Rainier and the Cascade Mountains. Snoqualmie Falls, a 268 foot waterfall, is internationally famous for its television debut in the cult series, Twin Peaks.
Over 1.5 million visitors travel to see the waterfall each year. Skiers and snowboarders have easy access to one of the area’s premier skiing destinations – the Summit at Snoqualmie – less than half an hour away. This winter resort provides the closest ski area to Seattle, offering opportunities for alpine skiing and snowboarding, Nordic skiing, and winter tubing.
Tournament Players Course Snoqualmie Ridge is a golfer’s paradise. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, this course has hosted numerous PGA tour events, including the Boeing Classic in late August. The site offers 11 acres of professional practice facilities – including a driving range, putting green, chipping area, and a covered, heated hitting area. While the course was designed to accommodate major PGA events, it offers superb playability for any golfer.
Snoqualmie offers plenty of opportunities to commune with nature. Compass Outdoor Adventures hosts over 300 summer campers – and thousands of field trip participants – every year. Experience the ultimate downhill adventure with a 23-mile ride down John Wayne Pioneer Trail, while you savor the scenic splendor of glades, bridges, and waterfalls. Your ride ends with a refreshing plunge into Rattlesnake Lake.
Towering over the nearby town of North Bend, Mount Si is a favorite outdoor destination of Puget Sound residents. 100,000 climbers visit the mountain annually, to ascend a trail reaching 3,500 feet to the summit. The footpath winds through the Snag Flat, a stand of old-growth trees that have survived logging and multiple fires. Keep an eye out for mountain goats during summertime climbs, while you enjoy a magnificent vista of the Snoqualmie Valley and the Seattle skyline.
Little Si is a distinct mountain peak from Mount Si, with a separate trailhead and valley dividing the two. Known for rock climbing and bouldering, it has an elevation of over 1,500 feet. Climb the trail through a temperate slice of woodlands – passing short rock climbing trails and boulder fields along the way – and discover a peak that provides phenomenal views of the valley below.
